Women's Issues

The issues that relate to females are as varied and unique as humans can be. Some of the topics include platonic relationships, work and family transitions, single parenting and so much more. Women face struggles that relate to equality, education and privileges that their male counterpart do not experiences. Family Counseling

When families seek support. For many of life’s complicated issues, uses resources from “Prepare & Enrich” to provide a baseline assessment to pinpoint the issues that are causing the family distress. The assessments provide insight into parenting styles, family dynamics and family/parent communication.

Grief Counseling

My grief counseling support includes two components.

  1. Group therapy – Support group that is biblically based called “GriefShare”. I facilitate these groups twice a year. The session is online and in person. This group focuses on bereavement* only. In this group the material responds to the physical, cognitive, behavioral, social cultural changes that death brings.
    • Bereavement is defined as a period of mourning related to the death of a significant person in one’s life. This group addresses the loss of bonds and affection that death brings.
  2. Individual Grief session – These sessions include support connected to any loss i.e. divorce, empty nesting, job transition or endings. And the focus looks at how grief has negatively impacted one’s holistic disposition.
Premarital Counseling

Healthy Relationship Strategy

My desire to educate others on how to identify signs of unhealthy or toxic signs in relationships. By empowering individuals to identify, the healthy aspects of relationships (i.e. romantic, familial, work and associates) empowerment, confidence, and self-awareness will blossom.

  • Three signs of a healthy relationship include ….
    • Comfortable pace – the relationship moves at a speed that feels enjoyable for each person and that moves at a comfortable place.
    • Trust – Confidence that your partner won’t do anything to hurt you or ruin the relationship
    • Healthy conflict – Openly & respectfully discussing issues and confronting disagreements not-judgmentally.
Stress Management

First, stress is a NORMAL part of life; no one is immune from this mental tension. This emotion can energize and motivate us to take action and just as easily, it can cripple and immobilize one. Coping with stress, effectively is all about finding a balance and implementing strategies for needed circumstances. Stress can show up by one being easily frustrated, disruption of sleep patterns or the poor coping practices to numb the unrest that stress causes. In therapy, one will be provided with uniquely fitted
and effective strategies.
